About this place
One customer ordered a sushi roll filled only with kanpyo (dried gourd strips) and shiitake mushrooms for their mother, who had lost her appetite. It was made straight away, and the mother ate it and gradually began to feel better, the customer reported. The experience suggests that asking for a dish tailored to the person eating it can be part of ordering at Marutoku.
The thick-roll selection includes Jōmaki, Marutoku-maki and salad rolls, as well as a sushi-roll set and a salad-roll set. With both individual rolls and sets to choose from, it is easy to consider how much food you want and who you are sharing it with—or to make a meal centred on rolls rather than nigiri.
Nigiri choices include egg, prawn, tuna and yellowtail. Most are listed as four pieces, while sea urchin and salmon roe come in two pieces and eel in three. You can sample a few different toppings, or choose a rice bowl such as chirashi sushi, a seafood bowl or a tuna bowl.
There is a broad choice of sushi, including rolls, pressed sushi and nigiri, and both dining in and takeaway are available. Whether you eat at the restaurant or take your order home, there are different kinds of sushi to choose from.
